Join us in Pushing for a Criminal Justice System We Can All be Proud of!

Justice Matters will be bringing large numbers of people to the County Commissioners chambers on Wednesday, April 27 at 5:30 pm (pre-meeting will start at 5:10 pm at the Gazebo in South Park and then walk over to the Courthouse together). During our visit, we plan to call on our County leaders to:

  1. Address the Racial Disparity at the Jail
  2. Hire an independent consultant to identify/implement safe and effective alternatives to incarceration

It should be noted that the Justice Matters' Alternatives to Incarceration Steering Committee believe these two steps are a win-win for the County and the community. To establish a clear path toward exhausting alternatives while addressing racial concerns will create a positive outcome when the Crisis Center and changes necessary at the jail are brought to a vote.
