Doors at the Lied Center will open at 6 pm. Event begins at 6:30 and ends at 8 pm.
Following the Biblical example found in chapter 5 of the book of Nehemiah, the believers of Lawrence will come together on Wednesday, April 13 at the Lied Center for the 2016 Nehemiah Assembly. At this gathering, 2,000 people of faith will show support for well-researched solutions to local issues of justice. Trained leaders will present our proposals and discuss them with the appropriate officials to determine a plan forward.
In 2016, Justice Matters will address:
- Trauma impacting babies and infants from 0 - 5 years old;
- The Mental Health system focused specifically on the creation of a Crisis Stabilization Center and its relationship to the plans to expand the Douglas County Jail, and;
- The shortage of affordable homes in Lawrence for working families and vulnerable populations
Tickets will be limited and available after March 31, 2016. To get a ticket, please approach a member of the Justice Network at your congregation. To determine who to talk to, please visit the contacts section of our website for the leader at your faith community.
